Get to know me!
I am a first-generation Nigerian-American graduate from New York University. I previously held tenure as an Urban Fellow, NYC's public service fellowship under which I worked in anti-poverty research and public health programming for the Mayor's Office of Economic Opportunity in New York City. Prior to this experience, I received the Henry Luce Scholar Fellowship in Hanoi, Vietnam to continue my research in gender-based violence and reproductive health outcomes among ethnic minority groups in Northern Vietnamese provinces.
On May 17, 2023 I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Public Health and Sociology, with high honors. My pursuit of the pre-med curriculum culminated with a minor in Chemistry. Over the span of four years, I applied to and received dozens of scholarships which enabled me to attend a prestigious university, pursue coveted internships, and travel for free!
To my community: I desire to create opportunities for students of low-income, immigrant, and first-generation backgrounds to gain admittance to and finance their post-secondary education. Now through my non-profit, First-Gen & Dreamers, I help students across the United States achieve these goals.
To the world: I desire to advocate for culturally competent health systems. I have dedicated my career to implementing quality accessible health care for all, and to ensuring access to this service is an unquestionable, unwavering, human right.
